Rise Together FAQs

Is there a cost to participate in Rise Together?

No. Registration is free. If you’d like, you can start your fundraising off strong with a donation of your own during sign-up, but it isn’t required.

Do I need to register to participate in any community walks?

No. Walks are open to the public, and all are encouraged to join in. When you register to fundraise, you’ll be asked to pick which events you plan on attending. This is just to help us predict attendance — if you change your mind, feel free to show up for just some, none, or every one!

Can I bring my dog?

Yes. Leashed, well-behaved pets are welcome anywhere they’d normally be allowed. Just be aware that crowds and noise are part of the event, so more skittish critters may be happier at home.

Should I bring my own sign?

Pre-made signs are available (to borrow) at every Rise Together community walk. If you’re the crafty type, you can also make your own sign at home and bring it with you.

How do I raise money?

This year, Rise Together has moved to the GiveLively fundraising platform. From our GiveLively page, you can set up a fundraising page to collect donations individually, or create a team and invite others to raise money as a group. From your GiveLively page, you can easily share your fundraiser via social media or web link, inviting your friends and family to make a secure online donation with their payment method of choice. Any donations made on your page will go towards your personal fundraising total, as well as your group total if you’re part of a team. Top fundraisers will be featured in the team and individual standings on the main GiveLively campaign page.

You can find in-depth info on starting and running a fundraiser on the GiveLively support page, here.

Can I collect offline donations?

Yes! Offline donations (checks and cash) should be sent or dropped off to the main EFC offices at 66 Allen Street, Pittsfield, MA 01201. Make sure your supporter includes a note with your name or the name of your team so you get credit for the donation! You can click here for a handy printable donation slip that includes all the info we need.

Once we receive the donation, we’ll manually update your fundraising totals on GiveLively. (Please note that offline contributions have to be received and processed by our staff, so it may be a few days before they show up on your GiveLively profile. We appreciate your patience!)

How can I help spread the word?

Check out the Rise Together Resource Library on our website for shareable stats and post-ready graphics for your various profiles. Use the hashtag #RiseTogether2025 when you share photos and videos to increase exposure!
